Bad News

We just found out that we lost the baby. The doctor couldn't find a heart beat and when they did the ultrasound the baby hadn't developed like it should have. If I haven't miscarried by Tuesday they are going to give me medication to make it happen. It really sucks that we found out at 12 weeks, right when you think you are hitting the "safe" zone. Well, that's life.

#1 So my baby sister Justyna got accepted to BYU-Idaho and BYU-Provo!
Yeah!
And I am sure you all have your opinions about which one she should go to, so let me have it...

#2 Also, I wanted to share this St. Patrick's Day tradition that my sister-in-law Mitzi does with her daughter Kayla. Kayla always knows that the night before St Patties Day the Leprechauns come to her house, they make quite a mess but they also leave behind treats from their "pot of gold". So Mitzi sprinkles glitter on her while she is sleeping and ruins the house, upturns pillows, opens drawers, etc. because everyone knows what devious little creatures they can be. So when she wakes up she and Mitzi have to clean up after them, but while they do she finds chocolate gold coins, candy, etc. that they accidentally left behind. I have only heard about this idea from her, but I think it makes the day so much more fun!

Adalei's 1 year pics

We got back Adalei's 1 year pictures from our friend Carolyn, and they turned out so cute. She hates being photo-shot so half the pictures are a frowny face. Oh well! So I added some on here that she didn't have on her blog just to remind you all what a beautiful darling little girl I have! :)

Adalei turns 1

WOW! My beautiful little girl is one, can you believe it? This year has been the happiest and most sleep-deprived year of my life! I told Grayson one night after she was asleep from hours of colic-induced crying "It's a good thing we really wanted her or I might have left her at the orphanage tonight." It's amazing how parenthood changes you- I think everyone thought I was going to be a Mrs. Trenchbull mom, but I find myself even more mellow and unable to sweat the small stuff! (Ok- now don't go thinking that I am like a little dear now- I am still a fabulous mix of Irish, Russian& German- can you get a more volitile concoction?)
Anway-here is some Adalei fun facts.
*Adalei loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, no other show will do.
*She can hardly control her excitment around animals (you know Daddy will be forced to get her a puppy one day) When she sees ANY animal she shakes and points and squeals trying to get a better look. We go to the pet store for fun.
*She is the biggest ham, when people talk to her she smiles and laughs and makes them fall in lover with her
*She thinks no matter the size of the hole-she can make it in there
*She is DETERMINED- just try to sidetrack her...seriously, that's all you'll do... try...
*She still doesn't want to hold her bottle, she puts her hands behind her head like she's relaxing
*She can't stay away from water- even if Dad is the one in the tub she wants to splash around
*SHE IS FINALLY SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT (knock on wood...)
*Books & Stuffed animals are her favorite friends (no more nice shopping)
*She is not a girly-girl; she is willing to give anything a try

Of course I could praise her all day and that would bore you to tears, so here are some pics from her party....yeah, she IS gagging on her cake-she hated it! So sad! And yes- we are all wearing mickey ears...

Christmas with O'Neill's

After about 12 hours of traveling, including trying to get from Poki to SLC in a BLIZZARD we finally made it to MN...
It was so great to see my family, Adalei acted like she remembered them and smiled and laughed and played. It was fabulous to have our own set of babysitters, and great to finally see Trevor again. Jenae got baptized with G&G O'Neill, Aunt Kathy, Nate & Allie, and my friend Gina and others present.

Adalei loved the singing hallmark animals
One day she was wearing a shirt that said"Sweeter than Chocolate" and Grandma O had on a shirt that read "Give me chocolate and no one gets hurt!" Perfect!
