Scare

Since my miscarriage this spring Grayson and I have wary of this new pregnancy. Thursday morning I woke up and started spotting. Of course I freaked. After a call to the doctor they scheduled a ultrasound for early Friday and then I was to have an appoint. in the afternoon with my OBGYN. Since I had some mild cramping too and this felt just like how my last miscarriage had gone I pep talked myself all Thursday night to just accept the inevitable. So yesterday morning I walked into the ultrasound and told the tech I was positive I had miscarried and needed a confirmation. So she started poking around and low and behold the baby was totally fine. It even somersaulted a couple times just to prove its point. I am still flabbergasted today. They couldn't find any particular reason why I was spotting but everything looked normal so they decided it was probably implantation bleeding. This is not a guarantee towards a continued pregnancy but it sure gave me a unexpected kick in the butt...so Thanks again Heavenly Father, you really know how to throw the curve balls! (and I mean that respectfully!)

Justyna Visits

Before Fall session started, Justyna hitched a ride with us down to Las Vegas where Grayson decided to surprise me with a trip to see Phantom of the Opera for my birthday. It was awsome. Of course. Then she came back up with us for a couple weeks and spent some time with Adalei. As you can tell, Adalei loved that!

Funny Girl

One day Grayson and I were walking to the park and Adalei was off running ahead of us. Grayson was watching her and said, "Well, at least she runs like a girl." I started laughing because she twists and twirls, hops around and does anything but run in a straight determined line. We tried to take pictures, but they don't quite do her girly run justice.

Do your kids love your bed? Adie loved re-arranging our pillows. She makes forts, climbs over and under them and will spend quite a bit of time wrestling with her Dad all over the place.

Reed's Dairy Days

There is a large dairy store next to where Grayson's parents live and once a year they do "Dairy Days". Can you tell we live in a hick town when we are excited about this!??! However, they do have the most amazing ice cream and chocolate milk I have ever had. hands down.
They had all sorts of brand new baby animals, horse rides, samples, balloons, fiddlers, and races. It was really fun and Adalei tried to bring home a couple new pets.

Mini Update

Yes, Yes, I know I am a slacker! We have been so busy, this summer with my job and now that Grayson is back in school and going like crazy trying to finish this last "book year". Adalei keeps getting taller and although she adds a few more words to her vocab hasn't started really yaking up a storm ...yet! So here is my little question of the day- next year Grayson will be doing "rotations" (basically his residency) and we have to choose where to go. It is all a toss up of course, but if it was you and you had to move, which of these cities would you choose to go?
Reno, Nevada
Coeurdalene, Idaho
Boise, Idaho
Mind you, these are the only choices. We can't go back to Hawaii. (sniffle, sob, sigh.)

Summertime

Wow- is it just me or does it seem like summer just flies by?? Grayson and I went down to Utah (thanks for the crash Colleen!) to meet up with my family and drop Justyna off at BYU-Provo. She was pretty nervous but, of course, has instantly made friends and started to party just like a normal Freshman! My parents then came up for a visit after they dropped her off and later left for MN. Then Grayson's whole family came into town for the 4th of July celebration. And then our friends Abby and Daniel came for a quick visit. And then I studied and took my PRAXIS test for my biology Idaho teaching license. And I have been working this property management job and Grayson has been working and job shadowing. So, yeah. Flying by.

Memorial Day

We went up to the Schenk's for memorial Monday. Adalei really loves being wrestles by her in-laws and got to feed the ducks on the green belt. She is sooo in love with every animal she kept trying to run away every time a dog walked by.

Spoons

I finally gave into letting Adalei try to eat with her own spoon. I just can't stand getting stains out of clothes! She was actually very lady-like about it and has been practicing very hard ever since...especially when there is mac-n-cheese in the bowl.

Easter II

We bought way too much candy for her, what can we say? We have one little princess! She definitely got the whole egg hunting thing down pat...

Easter I

Ok- I know I am way behind on my blog! Thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes, we are finally recuperating from everything.
Adalei was adorable over Easter, we went to the church's Easter egg hunt Saturday and then had dinner with the in-laws and hunted some more on Sunday. I thought she would get into the candy more, but she mostly would put it in her mouth and then spit it out!




At the church, my friend Ashley was pointing out some eggs for her daughter and Adalei raced over and stole them before Brinley could pick them up!

Confusion

Sorry about the confusion with my previous blogs, I deleted the baby ones and replaced them, but they didn't record the date. I just miscarried last Tuesday night. The doctor had to give me medication since my body didn't want to complete the process. It was pretty horrid, it basically put me into labor all night long. I am still recovering from it and moving and the new property management job I just started. I hope to put some pictures up this week of Adalei, sorry for the delay!

Bad News

We just found out that we lost the baby. The doctor couldn't find a heart beat and when they did the ultrasound the baby hadn't developed like it should have. If I haven't miscarried by Tuesday they are going to give me medication to make it happen. It really sucks that we found out at 12 weeks, right when you think you are hitting the "safe" zone. Well, that's life.

And I am sure you all have your opinions about which one she should go to, so let me have it...

#2 Also, I wanted to share this St. Patrick's Day tradition that my sister-in-law Mitzi does with her daughter Kayla. Kayla always knows that the night before St Patties Day the Leprechauns come to her house, they make quite a mess but they also leave behind treats from their "pot of gold". So Mitzi sprinkles glitter on her while she is sleeping and ruins the house, upturns pillows, opens drawers, etc. because everyone knows what devious little creatures they can be. So when she wakes up she and Mitzi have to clean up after them, but while they do she finds chocolate gold coins, candy, etc. that they accidentally left behind. I have only heard about this idea from her, but I think it makes the day so much more fun!

Adalei's 1 year pics

We got back Adalei's 1 year pictures from our friend Carolyn, and they turned out so cute. She hates being photo-shot so half the pictures are a frowny face. Oh well! So I added some on here that she didn't have on her blog just to remind you all what a beautiful darling little girl I have! :)
