Self-Feeding

I have been trying to get Adalei to feed herself for months, but because she doesnt' put things in her mouth it has been hard to convince her. We went to Grandma Schenk's this weekend and look...eating a cracker.

For Uncle Trevor

So Trevor bought Adalei this big fluffy cute bear when he saw her for the first time over Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Adie was terrified of the poor thing. Finally, she gave in to loving it and now mauls it to death!

First Snow

We finally got some snow that stuck- and Adalei looked so adorable in her hat! She wasn't too sure about the snow...

Petting Zoo

Adalei is a such an animal lover! On our way to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving we stopped and saw Colleen and Elijah. I love the baby horse pic!

Applesauce

On my mom's suggestion I decided to make some applesauce for Adalei. Of course I had to think of some way to entertain her while I was doing it so I let her play with the apple peelings. The next time I looked over she had this huge apple peel just hanging off of her head it was hilarious! She is such a ham now- the camera comes out and she smiles!

Big Girl

I got Adalei ready to go out yesterday and she looked so adorable I had to take a couple pictures. As I was looking them over I realized how grown up she is getting! As a mom you feel excited and scared and happy and sad... (and and and) all at once. But then I think-darn-that means I am getting older too...

Top Teeth

Adalei's top teeth are coming in! Yeah! Ok, that is what I thought at first but then she started grinding them all day long-yikes! Since she doesn't put hardly anything in her mouth I guess this probably alleviates some of the tooth pain but it drives Gray and I crazy. We had a hard time getting a pic of them...

Book Worm

Have I mentioned how much my daughter loves books? If she had it her way I would be reading to her every hour of every day. She will dig through her toys and toss them out of the way if she sees a book she loves at the bottom!

Boo at the Zoo

I just love this time of the year- Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas right in a row!
We started out Halloween by carving pumpkins, Adalei was so funny- she never wants to put anything in her mouth- but she wanted to eat the pumpkin slime!



We went to the Idaho Falls Boo at the Zoo because Adalei loves animals so much. It was fun to see at the kids in their costumes, and the zookeepers let quite a few animals play or eat pumpkins. They also had probably 100 carved pumpkins, lights, giant blow-ups, crafts & more. In fact, ISU wanted some of the pharmacy students to hand out candy and talk to people about heartburn...(weird combo!). Adalei looked so cute in her butterfly costume and got quite a few remarks on her adorableness :) She was mesmorized by all the animals, but mostly by all the kids running around. Happy Halloween!

Halloween Preview

Ok- so the real holiday isn't until Friday but I had to post a couple pictures we took this weekend of Adalei in her Monarch butterfly costume! I was feeling really proud because I couldn't find antennae (which of course was absolutely necessary) so I bought a bee dog costume stole the antennae off it and glued it to a head band- perfect!

Autumn

Ok- So Autumn is so drab here in Idaho I often daydream about crisp walks through the beautiful hills of Minnesota....(sigh) So today we took Adalei to one of the only places (besides the cemetery) that has lots of big beautiful (for ID) trees. We got some shots of her playing in the leaves. (oh- we also tried to get a pic of us both kissing her (I know, sentimental) but as you can tell...didn't work well)

More Adalei

I haven't updated in a little while, so here are some pics of the Adalei circus...

She loves her sunglasses, Grayson puts them on her so she looks like a prudish librarian. But she takes them off like a famous movie star, one handed flair!












When I go and get her from her nap, she is generally bouncing up and down holding onto the bars- cute! But when I try to get her to sleep she clings to them and cries like I put her in jail!

she is finally getting her teeth! I don't know about you people but I could have sworn she was getting her teeth 3 times already and nothing happened...but now here they come! The only way I could take a pic though was to feed her, otherwise she kept sticking her tongue out. Can you see her little teeth peeking out?

Say Cheese

We attempted to do Adalei's 8 month pictures ourselves...yeah right. She cried and threw up and pooped her diaper and had a complete meltdown. It's amazing, she wants our attention 24/7 but as soon as you try to get a few shoots ....
